A'sani Heartbeat Foundation is dedicated to advancing reproductive justice for maternal, paternal, and family support. Through advocacy, restorative healing, storytelling, and public education, we strive to create positive change and foster a society where individuals and families have equitable access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, resources, and support systems.

We envision a society where individuals and families are empowered to make informed decisions about their reproductive health, free from discrimination, stigma, and systemic barriers. Founder, Dad-A-Port & Co-Chair, Fatherhood Task Force (SRC 9)

Andre Apparicio is the founder of Dad-A-Port, a fatherhood engagement initiative under A’sani Heartbeat Foundation that empowers fathers to be active, present, and supported throughout every stage of parenthood. As Co-Chair of the Fatherhood Task Force (SRC 9), Andre leads efforts to strengthen the voice and visibility of fathers in shaping family-centered policies, programs, and community systems. His work bridges advocacy and action — creating inclusive spaces for fathers through mentorship, play-based learning experiences, and policy change that uplifts families across Louisiana.

Motherhood Support Group: Voices of Motherhood

Voices of Motherhood Support Group is a safe and healing space for mothers to share their stories, connect through shared experiences, and find strength in community. Through open dialogue, storytelling, and guided reflection, we honor the journey of motherhood — including its joys, challenges, and moments of grief — while fostering connection, healing, and empowerment through storytelling photo projects, restorative yoga and floral workshops.
Fatherhood Engagement: Dad A Port

Dad-A-Port is a community-driven initiative that uplifts, equips, and connects fathers through programs that strengthen family bonds and promote active fatherhood. From Play Dates with Dad that encourage bonding through play, to Story Time with Dad that builds literacy and emotional connection, we create safe spaces for fathers to be present and celebrated. Beyond direct engagement, Dad-A-Port also advances policy and advocacy efforts through our Fatherhood Task Force (SRC 9) amplifying the voices of fathers in shaping policies that support equitable parenting, family well-being, and community health.
Community Baby Shower & Monthly Diaper Program

A’sani Heartbeat Foundation hosts Community Baby Showers to celebrate expectant and new parents while connecting them to vital resources, education, and peer support. These gatherings provide baby essentials, health information, and a loving community that honors every family’s journey into parenthood. Through our Diaper Connection Program, we offer ongoing monthly diaper support to ensure that no family has to choose between basic needs. Together, these programs strengthen families, promote dignity, and nurture healthy beginnings for babies across our community.
